Our Son, Vinnie

November 2008

Okay, maybe it wasn't necessarily the green beans that he was a fan of ... since he has polished off every single thing we've given him for dinner this week.

In other news, he still has a runny nose. Actually, it got worse on Friday morning and is still runny, but he is fine through it all. Go figure!

I think it is official: Vinnie LOVES green beans! He finishes off the entire container everytime I give them to him.

Vinnie went to see Bolt today with Emily and I. The only issue was that he was too happy and was chatting away during the movie. (Cute movie, by the way.)

Tonight at dinner we gave Vinnie a sippy cup for the first time. It was entertaining to see him make attempts at it. In the end, I don't think he did anything more than chew on it, but it was cute.

I picked Vinnie up at daycare today and the daycare workers complained that it wasn't fair that the calmest baby was the one that left early. They tried to talk me into leaving Vinnie and taking one of the higher maintenance ones.

I am sure no one is surprised, but I did not comply.

Vinnie's cold is still here, but it doesn't appear to slow him down too much. He is still a happy-go-lucky kid. Unfortunately, he hasn't gotten past the whole nose wiping thing. Still pisses him off.

And he is doing better and better with sitting up. He goes for longer and longer periods of time every day.

Vinnie is NOT a fan of the nose wiping. AT ALL!! Matter of fact, he gets absolutely pissed off when you wipe his nose. Very uncharacteristic of him.

I guess we all have our buttons . . .

He had a better day at daycare today. You can tell that he is not quite himself, but he is doing pretty good overall (as long as we don't wipe his nose).

I'm calling it: Vinnie is sitting up! Sure he still needs a spotter, but he corrects his balance well and even sits up straight now!

Poor thing doesn't feel well though. He is getting a cold and was downright fussy tonight for awhile. Poor little peanut. He is sleeping soundly now and hopefully will get some good sleep to help him get over the cold.

As Brian told you, Vinnie is a rolling fool today! We lost count on the amount of times he rolled.

I've been meaning to tell you, Vinnie is almost off of his Zantac for his reflux. He was taking 1.5ml three times per day. I backed him off to 1.0ml three times per day and he had no ill-effects. So now he is on 1.0ml two times per day and he is still doing good. Next we'll probably go to 0.5ml and then be done with it.

Oh and unofficially, I weighed Vinnie on the scale tonight (he had clothing on) and he weighed 18 pounds. He doesn't go back to the doc for the real weight check until December 4th.

Vinnie is still loving his food! He is getting cereal and fruit in the mornings and cereal, fruit and veggies in the evening.

His "vocabulary" is expanding. He has so many more sounds now.

And he likes to hear himself. He is developing quite the little squeal. He woke Emily up really early this morning while he was squealing with delight.

He is sleeping better now. My only issue is that he likes to wake up EARLY. Like 5:30am every morning. Just one more hour and I would be fine. But he is up at 5:30, happy as a clam and ready to play.

    *yawn*

Okay - I am calling it: Vinnie likes his cereal ... finally! If I don't spoon it in fast enough, he fusses. And all I am doing in between bites is taking the spoon from his mouth to the bowl to put more food on it. But he clealy thinks I am too slow at this process! As he complains every single time.

Vinnie is just going to be tearing through the milestones now. He is sooo close to sitting up. Tonight he was sitting with my help and I realized that I wasn't doing much. I let him go and he tried to grab something in front of him and he just folded in half. Normally he gets frustrated, but tonight he used his hands to prop himself up and then he pulled himself back to a sitting position. He is getting so strong!!

Of course, he then fell over backwards ... but that is not the point of the story! LOL

He's getting closer and closer to sitting up!

Pam Lyall:  Rolling over and sitting up too!!! He is making great strides. Vinnie make sure Mommy is round when you try to sit up just in case you fall over she is there to catch you!!
    Love you lots!!

Poor Vinnie is struggling with a little cold. Nothing big but the running nose is really, really pissing him of.

We are hoping that he has a bit better night night and that he realized that he can sleep an extra hour tonight and take advantage of it.
