Oh we have been having fun here! Vinnie is laughing and talking up a storm right now.
He is funny too as he has figured out that chattering gives him attention. I will be holding him, but doing something else and I will hear him start to talk. I will then look down at him and he will bust out in his huge smile.
And his smile is so big that it takes his entire body to spread it across his face. The arms are involved and the legs come up ... it is as if he is smiling from head to toe. Love this boy!Add a comment:

I just realized that I have no updated this lately ...
Vinnie is doing okay. He started to come down with his first cold on Saturday and he is still fighting it. The worse day was Saturday with the fever. Now it is just the congestion that we are fighting. He is still a pleasant little thing though.
He has started to laugh a bit now and that is funny. I was saying "BOO!" to him and it was causing him to startle, but then I would laugh and he would too. Quite the fun game!
Daycare is continuing to go okay for him. Every once in awhile he will play with the bottle rather than eat out of it, but he figures it out eventually and hasn't missed a meal - not that I figured he would. LOLComments:Add a comment:

I forgot to update last night.
Vinnie had a great day at daycare. He took the bottles without too much problem (actually, no problems, he just ate slowly) and he was in a great mood all day. When I picked him up they were talking about doing 'tummy time' with him and I asked if he screamed (as that was what he does when I try it at home) and they said, "No, as a matter of fact, he didn't cry at all today so we don't even know what that sounds like".
And I didn't completely fall apart and at least stopped crying by the time I got to the office.
And day 2 appears to be going well with Vinnie and far fewer tears where I am concerned.Comments:Add a comment:

Vinnie is all packed and ready to go to daycare tomorrow for the first day. I know he will do great, but at this point I am just wanting it over with.
Sitting here tonight, I am really, really glad that we visited last week. I have a comfort level that I didn't have before. Wish us both luck!Comments:pl@columbus.rr.com: I know today is a big step for both of you. As cute as he is he'll have those women eating out of his hand and they will spoil him. He will get great care I'm sure. Love you both lots!!!!

To continue his trend, Vinnie "played" putt-putt today and was so good. Actually, he slept through it. Emily opted to play putt-putt so we went to Magic Mountain. I put Vinnie in his wrap (strapped to me) and off we went. He was so good.

A friend of mine is letting us borrow her swing and Vinnie is in love with it!
And - to be absolutely honest - so are Brian and I. We hope the newness doesn't wear off and that he continues to love it!Comments:Add a comment:

I decided to work with Vinnie today on putting himself to sleep. He does it at night when I put him down groggy, but he won't at all during the day. I figured this would be a good skill for him to have at daycare.
It took a couple of visits to put the binkie back in, but he did great! He drifted right off to sleep.Comments:Add a comment:

Vinnie and I stopped in at his daycare today in preparation of my return to work next Wednesday. I was dragging my feet, but I am glad that I went in. I really love the ladies that are going to be taking care of him. They were really sweet and easy to talk to.
And I feel better that I dropped off some of his stuff so that they can get it organized prior to his drop off next week. They were already labeling baskets and drawers and shelves for him when I left.Comments:Add a comment:

Vinnie had his first visit to a high school today. Brian called me from work and he was stuck and unable to attend the mandatory sports meeting at Tony's high school, so I was it! I grabbed Vinnie and headed out to the school. Again, Vinnie was an angel. I put him in the wrap and he fell asleep and didn't make a peep the entire time I was there.
As a bonus, I got to catch up with an old friend of mine so it was well worth the trip in.
But it was interesting looking around ... I couldn't find anyone else at this high school meeting carrying around an infant. Oh well! LOLComments:Add a comment:

HE DID IT!! Vinnie slept through the night!! He was fussy last night and I was certain that he would be up at 1-2am due to how early he ate. However, I woke at 6am and went to check on him. He was moving a bit, but wasn't fully awake so I let him go. Five minutes later he called out that he was done with sleeping.
So, way to go Vinnie!Comments:Add a comment:

I feel like a broken record, but we went to the Ohio State Fair and Vinnie was an angel. It really is amazing how we can take this kid anywhere and he just goes with the flow. We took 2 cars thinking that Vinnie wouldn't last, but he was there until the big kids were done.

Vinnie is continuing to be a good sleeper and has started to show a schedule emerging. However, this schedule has him going to bed for the night around 7:30-8pm. Shouldn't be a problem, right? Except it means that I am back to up twice a night vs. once a night that I had become so accustomed too. Why couldn't he have selected 10pm as a bedtime?

I am sorry that Brian had to be spit upon for it to work, but getting that feeding into Vinnie at 9:30-10pm allowed him to sleep until 5AM!!
