Vinnie visited the doctor today for his 4 month appointment. He got all gold stars and is a perfect baby! He weighed 16 lbs even and was 25 1/2 inches long. He is 75th percentile for height and weight. He still has a little head though. LOL His head is in the 25th percentile ... no wonder his cheeks look so big.

He received 4 vaccines and was not happy at all. Although he is handling it well after the fact. He is not grumpy or anything tonight. I was expecting some side effects, but he is a trooper.

Doc said that we can start him on cereal in the evenings. I tried some tonight and he was not a fan ... to put it mildly. It got cold too quickly for one. The other was just that he didn't get what I was giving him. He may have actually swallowed a spoonful or two, but that is pushing it. Maybe we'll try again tomorrow night.

I don't think I mentioned it in the other post, but when I took Vinnie into the doctor's on Friday (at exactly 4 months old) they weighed him and he was up to 16 lbs, 5 ozs!! I double-checked Emily's stats and on 8/6/02 (almost 8 months old) she weighed 16 lbs, 2 ozs!!!

Tomorrow Vinnie goes for his official 4 month appointment. I suspect that he might be a bit lower in weight just because he won't be weighed with his clothes on. Either way, he is still a big boy!

Vinnie spent the first night away from his crib on Saturday night when we stayed at Grandma Pam's after Jack's birthday party. He did great in the pack 'n play.

I am not sure if the additional reflux meds are working or not ... or if the original problem wasn't reflux. He still has been a bit fussy the past few days, but I think he is at least eating a bit better. Some of it may just be because we had him out and about a lot this weekend. Maybe some routine will do him good.

He is finally showing signs that he might - someday - roll over. LOL He is getting up on his side now when he is laying on his back. When he is on his stomach, he just screams for someone to save him.

I took Vinnie into the pediatrician tonight as he has been a bit fussy the past couple of days (which is really out of character for Vinnie). He started not eating well today and tugging at one ear so I decided to take him in and have him checked.

Turns out that they think it is just his reflux acting up and that we need to increase his meds due to his increased size. So hopefully the additional zantac will help.

Nothing much new here. Vinnie is still a perfect little baby. No one around here can feel blue for too long with Vinnie around. He has started belly laughs recently and it is absolutely impossible to not laugh along with him. And he laughs at the most random things ... like if you yawn, he'll start cracking up.

Vinnie's newest trick is that he can blow bubbles.

Unfortunately, he cannot control the spit needed to blow these bubbles and he is going through tons of outfits. Guess it is time to break out the bibs and make them an accessory.

MENTAL NOTE: If I take Vinnie out to The Cheesecake Factory and feed him when I get home (past his bedtime) - he sleeps through the night.

It is 7am and he is just now waking up!!

I feel like I can see Vinnie growing before my eyes. Suddenly, his sleepers are getting short on him, he can reach all his toys on the swing, I had to remove the insert in his car seat and I put on something that was a size 6-9 months tonight thinking that he would swim in it - AND IT FIT!!

He is getting so big!

Vinnie looks like he might be ending the "second bottle protest". For the last 2 days he was at daycare, he took the 2nd bottle without blinking. Like we were all insane for worrying about it in the first place.

Grandma Donato: He was just going to take it on his terms and guess he was not going to do it until HE was good and ready. Go figure he is already testing the "system" Smart little guy if you ask me.

Vinnie's new thing is that he loves to watch TV. And he insists on sitting up. No more laying back in our arms, he wants to be sitting up. Of course, he can't do that on his own so he needs help. Thank goodness for the Bumbo seat.

Daycare is convinced that Vinnie can tell time. I send two bottles to daycare with him every day. The first bottle he takes without problems. The second one? He refuses to take.

And it is always within a half hour of when I am coming to pick him up. It is like he knows, hence daycare is convinced that he can tell time.
