I gave Vinnie some Cheerios and pieces of bananas tonight and he thinks he is hot stuff feeding himself!

Vinnie has figured out how to get the puffs in his mouth on his own now. He figured out how to pick the up, but wasn't good at releasing them from the grips of his hand once he got them there.
But I am watching him now and he's got it down! He is "chewing" away at his little puffs and is pretty proud of himself.Comments:Add a comment:

Brian reports that he saw Vinnie crawl this morning. He did a couple of crawls and then dropped on his belly.
I didn't see it and wasn't sure, but I think I just saw him do the same thing. I couldn't see the back-end as it was blocked by a toy, but he definitely moved his hands the right way and he moved forward!Comments:Add a comment:

I don't know how exactly to explain it, but I would definitely call Vinnie "mobile". I can set him on the floor and then turn around 2 minutes later and he has moved 3 feet, but he is still sitting on his bottom. How is he moving?!?!
I get it when he is on his belly. When he is on his belly he is still trying to crawl, but ends up scootching backwards. So that mobility I get and I can see.
But the scooting around on his bottom while our backs are turned?!? It is very perplexing.Comments:Add a comment:

Vinnie is doing better today. I think his ears are bothering him less, which is good. He has 3 doses of antibiotics in him as of tonight so that is good. Hopefully we can get a good night's sleep in him and we can get him back on track tomorrow.
We got a call from daycare today and they are telling us that they will be open on Thursday!! I was shocked and actually the girl that called me was surprised too. We all thought it was going to take much longer. So, great news!Comments:Add a comment:

Poor little Vinnie. He was struggling today and was fussy, fussy, fussy! I decided to get a doctor's appointment and have his ears checked ... again! I figured I've been so many times where they have said, "Ears are clear" so what was one more time.
But I was finally right ... unfortunately! Vinnie has double-ear infections and is on antibiotics to clear them up. Poor guy ... no wonder he was so fussy.
As an added side, Vinnie's daycare center is flooded (pipe burst) and we don't know when it will be reopened. Could be an interesting week or two. . .Comments:Debbie: I have to work this Friday but I'll take him next Friday if you are still in need of help!Add a comment:

Vinnie is still struggling with his cold. He goes from happy, go-lucky to absolute screaming-demon child when we wipe his nose. In case anyone missed it: VINNIE DOES NOT LIKE TO HAVE HIS NOSE WIPED!! He's pretty adamant about this one.
He tagged along to Emily's birthday party at Build-a-Bear today and was so good. But we pushed him too far. He was sooooo wiped at the end of the night. I took him to bed at 6:30pm tonight. Hopefully he is tired enough to keep sleeping all night. So far so good ... he is sleeping through Emily and her little friend running up and down the steps (Emily is having a sleepover).Comments:Add a comment:

Vinnie figured out the sippy cup tonight and his eyes got wide as saucers as he tasted apple juice. He loved it!
We haven't been very consistent with giving him a sippy cup, but every time we tried he just chewed on the end. But not today. He got it down.

Vinnie is growing! We are having to ditch the infant car seat as he is outgrowing it. I ordered a new convertible car seat and Brian is installing it now. No more just popping him out of the van and into the stroller. Oh well, he wasn't happy that he couldn't check out the world from the infant seat anyway.

Vinnie is figuring out more and more components to this crawling business. The new thing today is that he is spinning around on his belly. He has done a full 360 and is continuing to move.

You can tell that Vinnie is getting closer to figuring out this crawling thing. He goes from a sitting position to a "crawling" position. He doesn't stay up on his knees long (especially if Brian is around and he knocks him down - mean Daddy!), but his arms are getting stronger and stronger. He gets that he wants to go somewhere as he will see something out of reach and he will wiggle his arms and legs so it looks like he is swimming ... he just isn't going anywhere. If he were a fish, he'd be mobile. :)

Vinnie loves to have his head rubbed. It has always calmed him down.
